WASSCE awards proves the credibility of our examinations – WAEC
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) says the Distinction and Excellence Awards scheme to acknowledge students who participate and excel in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination is evidence of their credibility.

The official however indicated that the activities of rogue website operators and social media scammers whose primary aim is to make money at the expense of WAEC examinations continue to pose as one of the Council’s major challenges.
The Council member said the not-for-profit-making organization is working closely with the Police, National Investigative Bureau (NIB), National Security and other security agencies to address the worrying situation.
The Head of the National Office of speaking at a Distinction Award ceremony assured all relevant stakeholders her outfit will continue to put in place measures to ensure that the credibility of its examinations is not undermined.

Distinction Awards

Commenting on the 2023 Distinction Awards to take place at the National Theater he said the Headquarters of WAEC will award the top three candidates and the State of Ghana or WAEC-Ghana will also present awards to them.
“So what we are doing on Thursday, June 13, 2024, is simply to award our own candidates from Ghana who performed excellently in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School Candidates 2023” he noted.
John Kapi told JoyNews “Besides the top three awards there are others who are receiving awards for the various programmes, we have for example the General Arts, General Science, Business and also the Technical programmes.”
