WAEC gives date to release Ghana 2023 WASSCE for School results
Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the management of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) says it will release the provisional 2023 WASSCE for School results within the first to second week of December 2023.
In a social media post sighted by Thisterm.com, the Council said the marking of the 2023 edition of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School scripts will continue until November 24, 2023.
“Marking of 2023 WASSCE scripts will continue and end on 24th November 2023, The results will be officially released within the first to second week of December 2023,” the non-profit organization (WAEC) said in the social media post.
This academic year’s West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School faced several challenges including cheating, an incident the management of WAEC has said is the worst form of examination malpractice.
At a press briefing, the Exams Council said security agencies had busted hundreds of students with foreign materials, impersonators, and invigilators aiding an exam or malpractice cartel trading questions for various sums of money.
A Spokesman for the West African Examinations Council, John Kapi addressing journalists at the press conference to give an update on the WASSCE said “We are taking a tally of them. Each day comes with a certain number.
“The numbers are so overwhelming, we are trying to categorise them. And so for now, will not be able to give you a round figure, but you can be sure that the numbers, you know, are quite big,” the WAEC official told journalists.
He added “We’ve mentioned Otoo Memorial SHS, we’ve mentioned Mountain High SHS, we’ve mentioned Adu Gyamfi SHS, we’ve mentioned Only Believe SHS, we’re mentioning Christian IPS, and we’ve mentioned Ideal College.
So there are still a lot more reports that are coming in. Every day we get reports and each time we have to sit down and synthesize all of these so that we can place them in the appropriate categories.”
A total of 447,204 candidates, made up of 211,834 males and 235,370 females drawn from 975 public and private Senior High Schools entered for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School.
