In a social media blog post sighted by Thisterm.com, the not-for-profit-making organization said “WAEC is not responsible for such results. This is a fake result. Probably was made for jokes. Kindly stop tagging us with criticism.”

Meanwhile, the management of the West African Examinations Council has cautioned members of the general public particularly students to be wary of individuals who claim to upgrade their WAEC examination results for a fee.

In a blog post, the WAEC responsible for the conduct of examinations said it has come to its attention the activities of some persons who fraudulently make calls or send messages introducing themselves as staff of the Council.

The management says these unscrupulous persons contact candidates with lies that they have challenges with the registration they made for a particular WAEC examination or work in the WAEC Strong Room and can upgrade results.

“These persons often request for payments to be made via mobile money transfers to the phone numbers they provide. The Council wishes to caution members of the public to disregard such phone calls as they are from scammers

WAEC wishes to assure members of the public that its databases are secured and that any forgery of information or results can be detected by the confirmation/verification system.

Institutions and organisations are advised to confirm or verify results presented to them directly from the Council or access the confirmation/verification service online at https://www.waecgh.org,” the organization said in the blog post.

The management of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has urged members of the public to report the activities of these examination and results fraudsters to the police, or the nearest WAEC Office or call 054 0157979.
