PRINCOF gives update on 2023/2024 CoE 2nd semester reopening

The Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education, Ghana (PRINCOF) says it has resolved the critical issues that led to the postponement of the second semester reopening date for the public Colleges of Education (CoE) in the country.

In a recent press release, the College Principals citing circumstances beyond its control said it had postponed the 2023/2024 Colleges of Education’s second-semester reopening date earlier slated for June 2, 2024, to June 9, 2024.

“We regret to inform you that the re-opening date of the Colleges of Education for the second semester of the 2023/2024 academic year has been postponed to 9th June 2024 instead of the earlier date on the academic calendar,” It sated.

But in a statement dated June 3, sighted by Thisterm.com, PRINCOF said the critical issues were addressed after their meeting with the Minister for Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, and the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC).

“We are pleased to inform you that following our recent meeting with the Honourable Minister for Education and the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), the critical issues that led to the postponement of the re-opening date for the Colleges of Education have been successfully addressed,” PRINCOF stated.

The Principals amid the resolution expressed their sincerest appreciation to the Minister in Charge of Education for his swift and invaluable assistance in resolving the challenges that led to the postponement of the reopening date.

“His support and collaboration have been instrumental in paving the way for the smooth resumption of academic activities in the colleges of education,” the Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education said in the statement.

The leadership of the Conference of Principals added “As a result, we are delighted to confirm that the Colleges of Education will reopen for the second semester of the 2023/2024 academic year on Sunday, June 9, 2024,”
