President appoints Kingsley Nyarko Deputy Minister for Education

After the sacking of Gifty Twum-Ampofo, the Deputy Minister of Education in Charge of Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET), President Akufo-Addo has appointed Honourable Kingsley Nyarko as a replacement.

The sacking of the Abuakwa North Member of Parliament, Mrs Gifty Twum-Ampofo comes after His Excellency released the list of ministers relieved of their positions in government in a reshuffle announced on Wednesday morning.

Following the reshuffle, Akufo-Addo has submitted to Parliament, for prior approval, the names of the new persons for appointment as Ministers and Deputy Ministers of State, in accordance with articles 78, 79 and 256, respectively, of the Constitution.

In a statement sighted by Thisterm.com, he expressed his sincere appreciation to each of the Ministers and Deputy Ministers, who have exited Government, for their commitment, competence, dedication and hard work in office.

“The President personally expressed his sincere appreciation directly to each of the Ministers and Deputy Ministers, who have exited Government, for their commitment, competence, dedication and hard work in office, which helped in the realization of Government’s mandate to the Ghanaian people over the last seven (7) years, and wished each of them well in their future endeavours,” the statement added.

Profile of Kingsley Nyarko

Dr Kingsley Nyarko is a Ghanaian politician and a member of parliament for the Kwadaso constituency within Ashanti Region of Ghana. He is also the secretary of the National Accreditation Board (NAB) of Ghana. He is a member of the New Patriotic Party.

Nyarko was born on 10 June 1973 and hails from Obo Kwahu in the Eastern Region of Ghana. He had his Common entrance in 1986, his Ordinary level in 1992, his Advanced level in 1997 and his Teacher Certificate in 1995.

He further had his Bachelor in Education in Psychology in 2000, his Masters in Educational Psychology/ Differential Psychology in 2005 and his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology in 2008.

Nyarko was the headmaster for the Mile 18 Junior High School. He was also a tutor at the Ejisuman Senior High School. He also was the African Representative and Marketing Specialist for Voicecash.

He was also the Executive Director of the Danquah Institute. He was a Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana. He was also the Executive Secretary for the National Accreditation Board.
