NUGS announces date, venue & time for Education Conference 2.0
The leadership of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) has proudly unveiled its Inaugural Educational Conference scheduled to take place at the Ohene Konadu Auditorium – University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA).
In a social media post sighted by Thisterm.com, it said the pivotal gathering will bring together students, educators, policymakers, and industry visionaries to delve deep into the pressing issues and promising opportunities within Ghana’s educational sphere.
“With insightful discussions, innovative solutions, and a collaborative spirit, we’re laying the foundation for a brighter, more inclusive educational future for all Ghanaian students. Don’t miss this transformative event!” NUGS said in the post.
Slated for Monday, April 22, 2024, at 8:00 am, the Minister for Education and Bosomtwe Member of Parliament, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, is the special guest for the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) Education Conference 2.0 event.
On the theme “Role of Education in National Transformation and Employment”, speakers are the Director-General of Ghana Education Service, Eric Nkansah, Executive Director of National Service Scheme, Dr Osei Assibey Antwi
Others are Daniel Oppong Kyeremeh, President and CEO of the National Union of Ghana Students, PRO Vice-Chancellor of UPSA, Prof John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor, Executive Director of T-TEL, Robin Todd and CEO of PMMC, Nana Akwasi Awuah.
The capital edition of the NUGS conference comes after it hosted the maiden edition of the NUGS Education Conference at the CCB Auditorium, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi.
The Chairman of the occasion, Otumfuo Assinhene, Nana Akuoko, emphasised the significance of education and employability skills in shaping the future of Ghana. Other prominent guest speakers also shared their perspectives on the current state of education in Ghana.
The Minister of Education, Dr. Osei Yaw Adutwum also addressed the conference virtually. He first commended the union for its commitment to advocating for Ghanaians.
He further reiterated that the central government is dedicated to providing equitable access to quality education for all Ghanaian students in the country.
The conference featured a dynamic panel discussion on the theme, moderated by Nana Kwadwo Jantuah from Multimedia. The panellists included Prof. Edward Appiah (Director-General NaCCA), Dr Ohene Gyan (Deputy Director, NSS), Mr. Robin Todd (Executive Director, T-TEL) and Mr. Nuhu Bayorba Mahama (CEO, SLTF).
