NTC introduces code to pay teacher licensure indexing & exam fee

Failed GTLE candidates

The management of the National Teaching Council (NTC) has introduced a mobile shortcode *772*51# for prospective student teachers to pay teacher licensure indexing and Ghana teacher licensure examination (GTLE) registration fees.

NTC said GH₵50.00 will be charged for indexing. Fresh candidates it said will pay GH₵450 as licensure examination registration fees. For resit, it said 1 paper will cost GHC150, GH₵210 for 2 papers and GH₵385 for 3 papers.

The introduction of the *772*51# comes after the Teaching Council in a social media post sighted by Thisterm.com said it has opened the first phase of 2024 registration for the licensure examination for degree and PGDE holders.

GTLE indexing process

1. Visit indexing.ntc.gov.gh to check your status to determine whether your data has been uploaded onto the portal by your training institution before you start the registration process.

2. If your details have been uploaded, you shall be indexed before registering for the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination.

3. An indexing fee is Fifty Ghana Cedis (GH50.00). However, re-sit candidates shall not go through the indexing process.

4. Payment can be made at any branch of Prudential Bank Ltd nationwide or mobile money payment can be made through the short code *772*51# across all networks by using your college or university index number.

5. After successful payment, you will receive a message on your phone which contains your name, indexing number and further instructions.

6. Visit indexing.ntc.gov.gh to verify your details by logging in with your indexing number received on your phone via SMS. For the in-banking payment, if you do not receive the indexing number immediately you can use your transaction number from the bank which can be found on the payment receipt to log in to verify your details.

7. Use the indexing number to register for the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE).

GTLE indexing guidelines

1. A prospective candidate should make payment only when his/her details have been uploaded onto the indexing portal by their training institutions.

2. A prospective candidate will not be able to pay for indexing at the bank or via the shortcode if he/she does not have a minimum qualification of a degree.

3. Those who bought vouchers for 2023 GTLE 2 (GTLE in September 2023) registration but were not successful in registering will have their pins and serial numbers activated for the registration of 2024 GTLE 1.

GTLE registration process

1. Dial the shortcode *772*51# to make payment via mobile money across all networks or visit any branch of Prudential Bank Ltd nationwide.

2. Where payment is made at the bank, candidates must remember to take their Pin and Serial Number from the bank.

3. Log on to exams.ntc.gov.gh

4. Enter your e-voucher Serial number and Pin

5. Fill in all the fields and remember to upload your passport-size photograph.

GTLE guidelines

1. Any person who is not qualified or does not have his/her details on the examination portal and goes ahead to make any payment will not have a refund of the money.

2. NTC will not accept any request for a change of photograph after the examination.

3. Review information provided before submitting.

4. Print a Summary of the inputs made.

5. Read the examination regulations and check the box before submission.

6. Candidates should keep their Pin and Serial Numbers secured after registration for further use.

7. Candidates must complete their online registration not later than 20th February 2024

8. There will be no extension in the time for registration beyond the 20th February 2024 deadline.

9. The dress code should be formal or professional.

10. No baby at the examination hall.
