NSS invites requests from user agencies for 2024 service personnel
The management of the National Service Scheme (NSS) is inviting requests from user agencies and all other interested entities that wish to host national service personnel for the 2024/2025 service year.
In a release sighted by Thisterm.com, the user agencies the NSS said include private corporate organisations, Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs), Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), educational institutions, hospitals, security agencies.
Recognising the manpower shortfalls in private sector organisations, the National Service Scheme Management has encouraged private companies to leverage this opportunity to enhance their human resource capacity.
“User agencies are requested to indicate in writing the number of service personnel required and specify the desired academic or professional qualifications.
Submissions must be made on official letterhead and include the organisation’s official address, email, phone number, and location.
Agencies with special needs are advised to contact the NSS Secretariat for further discussions regarding their requests. All requests must reach the NSS Secretariat on or before July 30, 2024.

In other news, the National Service Scheme has given a breakdown of the PIN code activation fee charged tertiary graduates GH¢40 before allowing them access to their PIN codes online to begin their national service.
In a statement sighted by Thisterm.com, It said of the GH¢40, GH¢10.00 is charged for NSS ID card, GH¢10.00 for National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) dues and GH¢20.00 for online internet services to the service providers.
The GH¢20.00, the Scheme said covers the cost of the NSS certificate awarded upon service completion, facilitates the monthly upload of assessment forms and supports ongoing maintenance and upgrade to the NSS online registration system.
The fee charged for the PIN code activation ahead of national service, the Ghana National Service Scheme said covers hosting of the NSS ICT infrastructure and the management of the central ICT system for optimal performance.
