GES opens portal to promote ‘teaching staff’ to the various Grades
The Ghana Education Service has opened the promotion portal (gespromotions.gov.gh) to receive applications from qualified serving teaching staff (teachers/officers) for consideration for promotion to various grades in the Service.
The grades include;
a) Deputy Director
b) Assistant Director I
c) Assistant Director II
d) Principal Superintendent
Qualification
Deputy Director
An applicant should have been promoted to the grade of Assistant Director I on or before 2019 and should have been continuously at post since date (except for periods of approved leave of absence).
Assistant Director I
An applicant should have been promoted to the grade of Assistant Director II on or before 2019 and should have been continuously at post since date (except for periods of approved leave of absence).
Assistant Director II
An applicant should have been promoted to the grade of Principal Superintendent on or before 2019 and should have been continuously at post since date (except for periods of approved leave of absence).
Principal Superintendent
An applicant should have been promoted to the grade of Senior Superintendent I on or before 2019 and should have been continuously at post since date (except for periods of approved leave of absence).
Officers/Teachers with Master’s Degree and PHD
For the avoidance of doubt, applicants who wish to rely on Masters/ Doctorate degrees to join the interviews out of turn should note the following:
1. Masters /PHD programme should be on the approved GES course of study.
2. The Masters/PHD certificate should not have been obtained before the previous promotion.
3. Applicants who wish to use the Masters/PHD certificates for ADI, ADII and Deputy Director Promotion should have obtained their certificate on or before 2021.
Mode of Application
In a statement shared with Thisterm.com, the Ghana Education Service (GES) said all qualified applicants must log on to (www.gespromotions.gov.gh) from Monday, 26th February 2024 to apply and are to
1. Complete the application form and upload a passport-sized photograph
2. Upload only your last Promotion or Upgrading or Appointment Letter.
3. Applicants using Masters/Doctorate Degree must upload their certificates.
4. All documents uploaded should be in PDF format with the exception of the passport-sized photograph.
5. Upload clear and readable documents.
Deadline
The deadline for the online application is 31st March 2024.
