This means all newly trained teachers who applied for the 2024 recruitment are not going to be posted by the Ghana Education Service (GES) under the auspices of the Ministry of Education (MoE) but rather they will do self-posting.

Speaking at a press briefing the Director-General of GES, Dr Eric Nkansah said the first batch of degree holders who graduated from College in 2022 and applied for recruitment are to visit the portal from July 5, 2024, to July 31, 2024, to select preferred region, district and school.

The self-posting recruitment module he said has the benefit of getting the newly trained teachers to be posted to regions where language will not be a barrier thus they can speak the local language where they choose to teach.

How to do 2024 GES teachers self-posting

1. Visit the gespromotions.gov.gh portal.

2. Enter your College Index Number to verify your qualifications.

3. Enter your phone number and NTC number accurately. This is crucial for validation and your successful application.

4. A One-Time Password (OTP) will be sent to the phone number provided.

5. Enter your OTP.

6. Carefully select the preferred Region, District and School and click the submit button

7. Save and print out the Appointment Letter.

Describing the process as crucial the GES Director-General said newly recruited trained teachers who do not go through the process will not be validated to be successful in the self-posting application.

“Applicants must note that all appointment letters have QR codes for validation thus you can scan the code with any smartphone to check the authenticity of the letter,” Dr Eric Nkansah said at a press briefing on the 2024 recruitment

Successful applicants, the Director-General said must proceed to their respective Regional Education Directorate with their Ghana card and other necessary documents for verification and further directives.
