GES official gives reason for the GES recruitment portal downtime
The Director-General in Charge of the Ghana Education Service, Dr Eric Nkansah says the GES recruitment portal is temporarily offline for some necessary upgrades aimed at including a new feature to the portal.
The https://gespromotions.gov.gh downtime, the Director-General of the GES, explained is for maintenance and an update which will enable applicants to use the newly introduced self-posting feature within the system effectively.
“The system is currently down to allow for an update which will allow applicants to be able to do a self-reposting within the system. Hence, the technical shutdown. We will communicate appropriately when the system is up,” he said.
A visit to the GES recruitment portal currently shows “503 Service Unavailable No server is available to handle this request” an error indicating the website is offline. The upgrade when completed is expected to make the portal user-friendly and responsive.
The self-posting module was introduced by the Ghana Education Service in early July this year to enable newly recruited trained teachers to select their preferred location and post themselves instead of the traditional posting that was done by GES.
The self-posting recruitment module GES said has the benefit of getting the newly trained teachers to be posted to regions where language will not be a barrier thus they can speak the local language where they choose to teach.
