In a post sighted by Thistem.com, the spokesman for MoE, Kwasi Kwarteng said “The government has granted financial clearance to the Ghana Education Service for the recruitment of the 2022 batch of graduates from Colleges of Education,”

The newly trained teachers recruitment comes after the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG) expressed worry about MoE’s inability to secure financial clearance for the Ghana Education Service to recruit College graduates.

In a statement, It said that despite completing their requisite four years of study in College with one year of national service and passing the Ghana teacher licensure examination, most of the newly qualified teachers are unemployed.

TTAG in the press release shared with Thisterm.com said “Teacher Trainees from the Colleges of Education had always had their postings immediately after National Service but this year’s has delayed for over five months which is quite unusual

The impact of this delay has implications for these individuals as it undermines the morale and motivation of these teachers who have invested significant time and effort in acquiring the necessary qualifications.

We believe that this also engenders anxiety and financial strain among them. Given the urgency and significance of this matter

We respectfully request immediate action from the Government of the Republic of Ghana, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Education and all other relevant Stakeholders who matter in expediting action in the posting process for newly qualified teachers.”
