GES begins 2024 Inter/Intra regional, district reposting of teachers
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has commenced Inter-regional and Inter/intra-district reposting of teachers. The issuance of Assurance letters will start on Monday, 20th May 2024, and end on Wednesday, 19th June 2024.
The management of the Education Service in a statement said the processing of Inter-Regional reposting applications at the Headquarters will begin on Monday, July 1 2024, with its implementation to start in September 2024.
“Completed application form should be forwarded to the GES Headquaters by the various Regional Education Directorates latest by Wednesday, July 31, 2024. Documents received after the above deadline will not be accepted
Also, staff seeking reposting can only be released after the Director-General has approved and issued out a reposting letter to the applicant,” the Ghana Education Service (GES) said in the press release dated May 2, 2024.
Process of Inter-District reposting
1. An applicant seeks an Assurance of Vacancy from a preferred Metro/Municipal/District within the Region.
2. After securing the assurance letter, the applicant then applies for release from their current Metro/Municipal/District by submitting all required documents (e.g., current payslip, assurance letter, certificates, bank clearance, etc.).
The Metro/Municipal/District Director then recommends the applicant’s release to the Regional Director.
3. The Metro/Municipal/District Director forwards the applicant’s documents to the Regional Education Office for final approval by the Regional Director.
5. After the final approval is given, the current Metro/Municipal/District Director and Head of Basic/SHS are informed accordingly.
Note: A teacher seeking inter-district reposting can only be released when the Regional Director has given the final approval letter.
Process of Inter-Regional reposting
1. An applicant seeks for an Assurance of Vacancy from a preferred Metro/Municipal/District within the Region.
2. After securing the assurance letter, the applicant then applies for release from their current Metro/Municipal/District, including all required documents (e.g., current payslip, assurance letter, certificates, bank clearance, etc.).
The Metro/Municipal/District Director writes a cover letter after the applicant has completed an inter-regional transfer form and attached all necessary documents (e.g. current payslip, Assurance letter, Certificates and Bank clearance).
3. The Metro/Municipal/District Director forwards the applicant’s documents to the Regional Education Office for onward submission to the Director-General for final approval.
4. After the Director-General’s approval is given, the Regional Director issues a release letter to the applicants to complete the reposting process
Note: A teacher seeking inter-district reposting can only be released by the Regional Director after the Director-General has given final approval to the applicant.
Process of Intra-District reposting
1. An Applicant writes to the Metro/Municipal/District Director and attaches his/her current payslip, personal records form, certificates, bank clearance, etc. indicating his/her willingness to move from his/her current school to another school within the Metro/Municipal/District.
2. The Metro/Municipal/District Director gives the final approval when the applicant meets all the requirements.
