WAEC gives update on 2024/25 G/ABCE registration, date and fees
The 2024 General and Advanced Business Certificate Examinations (G/ABCE) registration of prospective students to sit for the national examination will commence on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, and end on Friday, April 19, 2024.
In a blog post sighted by Thisterm.com, the West African Examinations Council said it will conduct the 2024 General and Advanced Business Certificate Examinations (G/ABCE) from Friday, August 2, 2024, to Monday, September 2, 2024.
“The General and Advanced Business Certificate Examinations will be conducted from August 2 to September 2, 2024. The registration portal for this examination was opened on March 5 and will be closed on April 19 2024,” it stated.
The registration procedure for the 2024 edition of the national examination, the not-for-profit-making organization (WAEC) will involve capturing of biodata and uploading of registration data online for all school and private candidates.
Upon submission of entries online, candidates are expected to print an invoice and proceed to a designated bank to make payment. The designated banks are listed in the manual for registration available on the WAEC website.
The GBCE is equivalent to the WASSCE, while the ABCE is equivalent to a Diploma certificate issued by any of the accredited universities in Ghana. Candidates who hold these certificates are eligible for entry into any university of their choice.
How to register for 2024 GBCE/ABCE
1. Log onto the GBCE/ABCE registration website
2. Select “link to ABCE” if you are registering for the Advanced Business Certificate Examination or “link to GBCE” if you are registering for the General Business Certificate Examination.
3. For fresh registration, create a profile by providing the required data under the ‘Fresh Registration Section’.
4. Fill in your personal information.
5. Select the Region and Centre where you wish to take the examination.
6. Scan and upload your image (recent passport-sized photograph with a white background) and your signature (signed in blue or black ink).
7. Select the subject(s) you intend to write.
8. Click on submit only when you are sure of the correctness of your data.
9. If after submission you wish to amend your data, click on Start Registration Here and select Existing Candidate’s Section. After the amendment, click on submit.
10. Print your fee slip and take it to banks like (Ecobank, Prudential Bank, Zenith Bank, Bank of Africa, Access Bank, and Consolidated Bank of Ghana).
