EduWatch reacts to 2023/24 provisional WASSCE for School results
Education think tank – Africa Education Watch (EduWatch) following the release of provisional WASSCE for School results by the West African Examinations Council has described the International examination outcomes as good.
Announcing the release of the results, the Council said results of 4,878 candidates have been blocked for failing to return learning support materials supplied to them by their schools and such candidates are to contact their schools.
“Candidates are to note that West African Examinations Council results are secured and can be authenticated using its results verification system. The WAEC QR code can be downloaded and used to verify results,” WAEC said in a post.
A total of 447,204 candidates, made up of 211,834 males and 235,370 females drawn from 975 public and private Senior High Schools entered for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School.
This figure indicates an increase of 5.8% compared to the 2022 entry figure of 422,883. The WASSCE took place at 834 centres. A total of 60 subjects, comprising 4 core and 56 electives were made available to candidates to choose from.
The 2023 edition of the WASSCE for School Candidates commenced on Monday, July 31, 2023, with the Visual Art Project work. The international examination administered at 834 examination centres ended on September 26, 2023.
How to buy WASSCE results checker card
1. Visit the WASSCE Checker Cards website
2. Click on the “Buy Now” button.
3. Fill in the details by adding your First name, Last name, Phone number and E-mail address.
4. Scroll down and click on “Proceed To Payment”.
5. Select “Pay with Mobile Money” and enter your Mobile Money (MoMo) number.
6. Click on “Confirm”.
7. Approve payment on your phone by entering your Mobile Money (MoMo) PIN.
How to check WASSCE results
1. Visit the WASSCE result portal
2. Enter your Index Number.
3. Select the Type of Examination (e.g. WASSCE).
4. Select your Examination Year eg. 2023.
5. Enter your Date of Birth
6. Enter the Serial Number found on the Voucher.
7. Enter the 12-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN) on your Voucher eg. 012345678912.
8. Confirm your Index Number and Examination Year. This is to ensure that your examination information is correct.
9. Click on the Submit button and wait for the display in the popup window. This may take several minutes.
How to print 2023 WASSCE results
1. After clicking on Submit and the WASSCE result displayed
2. Use the shortcut CTRL+P to prepare the results for print
3. At the destination area select Save as PDF
4. Click on the Print button below to save the 2023 WASSCE result on your device.
5. Go to any nearby Internet cafe or printing press to print the result in hard copy.
