In a social media post sighted by Thisterm.com, he said the enrollment of the male BECE graduate was successful with the intervention of the Minister for Education Chief Director of the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection

“Our biggest challenge was his whereabouts, as the mum who had custody had vacated their abode, and rarely engaged on the phone.

I had given up until I got that call yesterday; the mum had finally promised the teachers to bring the boy. I immediately felt some happiness in me. Then I became cautiously optimistic since this wasn’t the first of such assurances.

I am happy to announce that this afternoon, after a very successful meeting with the Headmaster and leadership of Presec, Legon, we formally enrolled the boy.

The mother is not just excited, but also happy her church has no objection to the boy’s education.

The mother wishes to clarify that, it was her personal decision of faith not to enroll, and not a decision of the church, as being portrayed by a section of the media.

We are happy she has changed her mind, and we will be happy to see the church join us campaign for education.

I am grateful to the teachers at Community 11 Basic School Complex, Tema for buying some of his items for school. Eduwatch has taken care of the rest.

Worth mentioning is the relentless commitment of Madam Freda; her passion for the boy’s success is so amazing. Freda drove the boy and mum in her car from Tema to Presec, Legon. We have been working all day.

I appreciate the support of Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, the Headmaster and leadership of Presec, the boy’s parents, Ato Buju (CHRAJ Tema), the church and the Department of Social Welfare who were onsite to provide counselling and further investigations on a holiday.

Eduwatch Front Desk Exec (Sandara) had to hit the Madina market without prior notice on a holiday to shop the boy’s remaining prospectus items and personal effects. God bless her!

Eduwatch will continue to support the boy financially to enable him to realize his dream of becoming a doctor by 2033,” the Director of the education think tank – Africa Education Watch (EduWatch) said in the social media post.
